Wednesday 7:00 – 8:00 Level One (A) - Beginner - Technique $80 or $70 bring a buddy discount (must sign up together) 5 weeks class
This class will help the dancers attain a solid foundation of the basic belly dancing movements. At the end of each class, we will practice lots of combinations and drills for technique. The combination part of the class will help dancers make sense of the moves as we learn them. Dancers should walk away with a basic knowledge of belly dancing using the "basic four" concept taught in the classes. This class is intended for new dancers who have limited to no belly dancing experience and for those who want a quick refresher course. Wednesday 8:00 – 8:30 PM Level One (B) - Dance Drills $50 for five weeks Level one is a review to the basic movements taught in ONE/A. • Body alignment, posture and technique. • Combinations • Practice transitions • Dancing, dancing, dancing This class will help dancers make sense of the moves taught in One/A, and how they relate to the dance. Dancers should have a solid foundation of the "basic four" for this class. Prerequisite level ONE/A. This class is limited in size to give dancers proper dancing space. Wednesday 8:30 – 9:00 PM Level Two -Technique $50 for 5 weeks Level two is a review to the basic movements taught in ONE/A. • Body alignment, posture and technique. Introduce Snake Arms Turns (sport and focus) Transitions • Combinations • Dance Practice sessions This class will focus on perfecting the hip techniques taught in levels one (A/B). We will work in the new moves with repeated drills and combinations to work on smooth transitions and balance, as well as posture and body alignment. Stamina and breathing should improve in this class to start preparing to more intense classes. Additional traveling steps and turns will be covered for the mini combinations. Each class will start with technique training and finish with dancing combinations. Emphasis will be on grace and style as well as frame, posture and presentation. This class is for beginners who want to continue working on hip techniques and do some serious dancing. The class will continue to focuses on developing flexibility and learning proper isolation techniques. All classes will start with warm ups, technique review, and finish with dancing drills.
