Slow and sensual

This class is designed to introduce the basic belly dancing moves in a slow way. We will break
down the moves into bite size elements that make them easier to work with. Though these moves
are slow, they are the essential moves in belly dancing. Without them a belly dance routine is not
complete. These dance moves will target the lower back, abs, hips and thighs.
Happy Hips:
Saturday 11:30 - 12:00 pm ($45)
Belly dance, or "baladi," is a folk dance celebrating life, love, community, and friendship,
especially among women. In the spirit of that celebration, "Happy Hips!" is a class designed to
bring all of us together to experience dance as it is understood in Egypt. We will use the basic
foundation movements of belly dancing, which are easy to follow and lots of fun. A great low
impact workout targeting the lower body that improves flexibility and coordination, "Happy Hips!" is
suitable for dancers who just want to dance.
Happy Hips is not a technique class and no prior experience with belly dancing is necessary. But
there will be a lot of dancing as we piece our combinations together over the course of the class.
16 years old and up.
Shakes and Shimmies:($45)
12:00 - 12:30 pm
This is a fun class that guarantees a total body workout. The routines feature interval dancing
sessions where fast and slow Middle Eastern rhythms and resistance exercises are combined to
tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
The class is designed to create a dynamic, exciting, effective exercise program using all elements
of belly dancing! The routines feature sharqi/shaabi/baldi and saaidi/ interval training with a
combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. It is a mixture of body
sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. It’s a fun class with easy-to-follow, fun
dance steps you, will forget you are even working out. 16 years old and up
Were are offering the Saturday classes for those of you who want to dance
but can’t make it during the week, and to those of you who want more than
just one night a weeks of classes.

and shimmies. Four weeks of fun and great workout classes as you belly
dance your way to better you.
