Introduction to Veil and  finger cymbals 11:00 - 12:00  ($40 for 4 weeks)

This class is for beginners who are ready to try something new, and fun!

  • Introduction to finger cymbals/ Zills (Sagat)
  • Learning basic patterns
  • Putting basic moves while playing the cymbals
  • Drills with Left/Right brain and hand and body coordination
  • Introduction to Veil
  • Learning basic Veil air patterns
  • Putting basic moves while entering, dancing, walking with the veil
  • Basic Veil drills to work on arms, shoulders and veil coordination to produce the beautiful sensual veil dances



Happy Hips  12:00 - 1:00  pm ( $60 for 4 weeks)

In Egypt, belly dancing is a people’s dance; it’s a folk dance celebrating life, love, community, and friendship, especially
among women. In the spirit of celebration, our very own “Happy Hips” is a class designed to bring all of us together to
experience the dance as the local Egyptians understand it in Egypt. We will use the basic foundation movements of belly
dancing, which are easy to follow and lots of fun as well as challenging moves to get you moving and working out in no time.  
What’s fun about this class is you don’t feel like it’s a work out, just pure fun and dancing!!!
A great  medium impact workout that improves flexibility and coordination, Happy Hips is suitable for women who just want to
dance. Happy Hips is not a technique class and no prior experience with belly dancing is necessary. There will be lots of
dancing as we piece combinations together over the course of the class.  




Isolations and Combinations: 1:00  pm- 2:00  pm ($60 for 4 weeks)

This is real “Belly Dancing”!! There are a variety of positions that can be used for all belly dancing upper and lower body
moves. Dancers will benefit from this class by learning the basic rib cage circles in isolation with no movement from the
waist down, slow water moves and undulations with no movements from the waist up!! This class targets all the core muscles
to slowly build flexibility and stamina into the body with ease and comfort yet it’s challenging enough by working on moving
just one part of the body while keeping the rest still!!  Dance combinations will be danced at the end of each class.



Shakes & Shimmies/Slow & Sensual: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm  ($60 for 4 weeks)

This is an even more challenging class of hip shimmies and accents.  It’s a fun high impact dancing class that guarantees a
total body workout. The routines feature 5 -10 minutes of interval hip shimmies and shoulder shakes where fast and slow
Middle Eastern rhythms and resistance exercises are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.  We will cool
down with our favorite slow and sensual session to stretch and breath as we work on strengthen the abdomen and the
spine.  These classes are designed to use the basic belly dancing moves in a way that allows everyone to dance, no matter
what level of dancing they are at!  We will break down the shimmies into bite size elements that make them easier to work
with. These moves are fast and exciting, to give the dancer a new sexy and enjoyable way to dance. The dance moves will
target the lower back, abs, hips and thighs, shoulders and arms.

Beginners / Intermediate Technique

This is an introduction class to learn and review  the basic unique movements of Egyptian belly dancing, including it's unique
body alignment, posture and technique. The class teaches isolation exercises to tone, shape and condition the body, and to
help the new student attain a solid foundation of the basic belly dancing movements, and returning students to practice
muscle control and transitions. Emphasis will be on grace and style as well as frame, posture and presentation. This class is
for beginners and intermediate dancers who want to continue working on  techniques and advance to the next level of
dancing. The class will continue to  focuses on developing flexibility. Dancers will be taught to but a simple combination
together and on their own.
