Fouad Mounib
Fouad Mounib demonstrated his love for Egypt through his
numerous community activities.  He established "
The Egyptian
American Culture Association".  In addition, he started the first
Arabic radio station in Washington, DC, and then together with
his family members and friends, formed a folkloric troupe to
promote the arts, dance and culture of Egypt.    The troupe has
been very well received by American audience,  and has
performed in many prestigious events  in the United States.

Fouad Mounib believed that through music and dance he could
establish a dialogue with American audience,  in order to start
teaching them about the true culture and traditions of Egypt,
rather than what they saw on television and in the cinema.  His
background as the Egyptian television host of the program "Maa
el Nass" (with the people) and his experience in television
production, enabled  him to produce many cultural programs in
the Washington Metropolitan Area to promote Egyptian culture.

In July, 1977, Fouad Mounib died,  only minutes before the
troupe was scheduled to perform at the International Folk
Festival at Wolf Trap in Virginia.  The troupe still proceeded
with the  performance, knowing very well that was what Fouad
Mounib would have wanted.

Since 1975,
Amr and  Azza have been performing at various
folk festivals in Virginia, and several around the United States,
continuing what their father had started,  representing  Egypt
through various folk dances under the supervision of their
mother Nahed Mounib.
